Nowadays, children use phones almost from birth: during meals, walks, and when they are not sleeping. Of course, this makes life much easier for adults, as the child is occupied with bright pictures and simple songs.
Uncontrolled screen time reduces physical activity during the day, is a risk factor for obesity, can lead to sleep disorders, and decreases interest in the surrounding world. Pulling a child out of this digital world can be challenging, so preventing this problem is better.
Brief recommendations:
● It's best to refrain from encouraging TV/gadget use for children under two years old.
● No TV should be in the child's room (relevant for all ages).
● Limit screen time to 60 minutes for children under 5 (referring to beneficial activities such as programming, etc.) and 120 minutes for children up to 17. We understand this can be difficult to achieve, but these are just recommendations.
