Introducing solid foods is an exciting part of life for parents.
When introducing solid foods, paying attention to the child's overall condition, skin changes, and stool is essential. Doctors refer to alarming symptoms as "red flags," which include:
Stool less than two times a week
Diarrhea
Blood in the stool
Frequent choking
Difficulty breathing, choking
Swelling (face, eyes, lips, or other parts of the body)
Vomiting or frequent spitting up
Severe rashes
Refusal of many solid foods
The presence of red flags does not necessarily mean that everything is terrible. They give us a reason to think and address the problem.
