Tornado in a Jar

Experiments 1.5-3
Ingredients:

  • A tall glass jar with a lid
  • Liquid soap or dishwashing liquid (necessary for good foaming)
  • Glitter
  • Favorite color of food coloring
  • Water

Instructions:

  1. Fill the jar ¾ complete with water.
  2. Add a couple of drops of the liquid soap, glitter, and food coloring, then tightly close the jar with the lid.

The crucial step is to lift the jar and swirl it in a spiral motion (as if you want to rinse the sides), then place it back on the table. The tornado in a jar is ready for your attention!
